ExACT Mixing Develops a New Small – Scale Continuous Mixing Solution
Continuous Mixing isn't just for high production volumes anymore. ExACT Mixing, a division of Reading Bakery Systems, developed a new small – scale system for customers producing dough at finished rates lower than 1500 pounds per hour, and whose process would be suitable for semi-automated loading of ingredients. This new system has a smaller footprint, and with the hand feeding of materials, eliminates the need for an overhead platform.
Continuous mixing is safer for operators, more sanitary and delivers reduced labor, maintenance and energy costs than batch mixing. This new continuous mixing system has been proven for doughs to produce baked snacks, pet treats, bread products, sweet goods, pizza and tortillas.

Additionally, Chip Czulada has been promoted to Vice President, Finance and Operations, and Travis Getz to Director of Engineering Services. "I see myself now as the navigator and map reader and Joe is at the helm, leading the way," said Groff. "We have a great team of people here and I am simply letting the team lead the ship."
Since Groff joined his father at Reading in 1974, the company has expanded five times, purchased T.L. Green and ExACT Mixing, and built a technical center and a brand new Science & Innovation Center. The company is now a world leader in technological innovations in the baked snack food industry.
"It's critical we maintain our technical leadership edge through partnerships with industry and academia, and finding, evaluating and implementing new technologies," said Groff.
As President, Zaleski will provide the vision for the future of the company. "He has 20 years experience with RBS and worked his way up from an assistant engineer, and has led technical innovations in every part of our product line," Groff noted. "Dave Kuipers was instrumental in integrating the product lines of T.L. Green, Reading and ExACT and is quite proficient at implementing systems and conferring business obligations.
"Going forward, our goals are to continue building up our product lines," said Zaleski. "We have to be competitive with off-shore manufacturers; we have to innovate; and we have to focus on cost-effective process by being energy efficient and providing sanitary designs."
