Continuous Mixing Innovations

Continuous Mixing is the process of continuously metering ingredients directly into the mixing chamber to generate a continuous stream of mixed dough at the exit of the mixer. The mixing may be done in stages to ensure all ingredients are incorporated properly.

Dough Forming Innovations

When you manufacture extruded and co-extruded dog treats, the Reading Pretzel Low Pressure (LP) Extruder will enable you to create a variety of structural, flat and filled extruded and co-extruded shapes and sticks. This option is more flexible and cost-effective than conventional dough forming and sheeting systems for customers who produce a variety of pet treats.

For rotary moulded dog treats, the Thomas L. Green Rotary Moulder efficiently produces high definition, three dimensional shapes by pressing dough into a die roll. The interchangeable die roll is made of engraved brass and can be supplied with segmented rings for simultaneous, multiple shape production.

For sheeted dog treats, the Thomas L. Green Sheeter creates a consistent dough sheet, and Gauging Stations ensure accurate thickness prior to forming. Form scrapless geometric shapes and distinct shapes with the Rotary Cutting Station.

If you production line includes sticks and nuggets, the single-blade Guillotine Cutter will provide precise, consistent cutting and product separation across the width of the line.

Oven Innovations

With the Reading Pretzel SPECTRUM OVENĀ®, customers benefit from a variety of heat transfer combinations in one modular design. The single pass convection baking platform is designed for balanced and consistent baking of pet treats. Operators control the product moisture removal rate for maximum quality assurance. A dryer may be combined with the oven zone to create a space efficient two-pass baking chamber.
