Multi-Crisp Baked Snack Systems
The Multi-Crisp Baked Snack System enables customers to produce a variety of wheat, potato and corn masa flour crisps on one flexible system.
It utilizes the FX Continuous Mixer to ensure even moisture distribution throughout the dough. This eliminates batch cycle variations and creates consistent and appealing product textures.
The Thomas L. Green 2 Roll Sheeter creates a consistent dough sheet ready for dough forming or further reduction. The thickness of the sheet produced can be adjusted during production to accommodate the type of dough and the requirements of the downstream equipment.
Product pieces are then cut by the Rotary Cutter interchangeable die rolls before being baked and dried in a two pass, convection SPECTRUM OVEN® system.

Extruded Pretzel and Bread Snack Systems
The EX Continuous Mixer is ideal for wheat based products such as pretzels, pizza, sweet goods, crackers, pet treats and is also well suited for all but the lowest viscosity powder/liquid mixtures. Continuous mixing eliminates the undesirable dough variations that are a caused by batch mixing.
The flexible Low Pressure (LP) Extruder allows for the creation a variety of pretzel shapes, sticks, braids, sushki, filled sticks and bread snacks on one production line. Unique product shapes can be designed into custom-made extrusion dies, and product changeover takes just minutes.
Incorporate the Guillotine Cutter for precision cutting and product separation of sticks and nuggets before baking.
The Reading Pretzel Automatic Hot Pretzel Cooker is available for evenly and accurately cooking pretzels and pretzel-type products. Temperature, solution mixture, dwell time, and transfer speeds are all automatically controlled for consistent results and operator safety.
Toppings of all kinds can be easily distributed by one of our Omega Dispensers. These dispensers can handle a wide variety of materials, from uniformly sized to fine-grain to irregular sized toppings, and feature leveling mechanisms that minimize material bridging and clumping.
Expanded Snack System
For additional snack product opportunities using corn, rice and other cereal ingredients, Reading Bakery Systems offers a single screw, high-pressure extrusion system that will expand your capabilities by producing corn curls, corn ball shapes and other snacks. The Ribbon Blender creates a homogeneous blend of dry ingredients for a variety of recipes that can be run through the extrusion system.
The Tumble Dryer reduces the moisture of the product to the proper, finished level, typically 1.5-4%. The Slurry Applicator coats the dried product with an oil-based seasoning blend to add flavors to the final product, such as cheese, butter, or a variety of other savory combinations.
